Froid Council Approves ARPA Extension

The Froid Town Council held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 8, at the community center. The full council was in attendance, as were mayor Sheri Crain, clerk LeeAnn Johnson, Roosevelt County Sheriff’s deputy Russ Corbell and Penny Ryder. There were no additions to the meeting agenda.

Johnson read the minutes from the Nov. 17 meeting, which included public works activities like pavement patching, blading and water shut-off requests.

Public works director Alan Engelke said he will be watching the water depot and keeping an eye on the weather to determine when the depot should be shut down for the season.

An American Rescue Plan Act funding extension was approved at the Nov. 17 meeting, allowing the town six months to complete ongoing wastewater system spot repairs. Engelke will complete the work as weather allows.

Re-elected town officers had the oath of office administered during their official appointments Nov. 17. Those individuals include council members Young and Harris and Mayor Crain.

Water, sewer and garbage accounts were reviewed and approved for December.

The next meeting is set for Jan. 12.
