Hearings Conducted In District Court

Esequiel Erick Robles was sentenced for criminal possession of dangerous drugs during one of the hearings in district court on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Prior to Robles being sentenced, defense attorney Shannon Sweeney noted that Robles was very forthcoming and honest with authorities. She also said that Robles has significant family support. She feels it’s appropriate for him to be enrolled with the Montana Probation and Parole rather than be in prison. Roosevelt County Thomas Bleicher’s argument included that Robles has 19 prior felony convictions.

Judge Benjamin Fosland said that the Department of Corrections feels secured placement is necessary for Robles, but the judge understands the defense attorney’s comments that it will not help the defendant to be locked up.

Fosland ordered a five year suspended sentence for Robles.

Other cases included the following: Kyle R. Fuchs admitted to three allegations of breaking his parole conditions. The allegations included violating his obligation to report to his probation officer, residence violation and employment or program violation. A disposition hearing was scheduled for Dec. 10.

Judge Fosland reimposed the $60,000 bond for Jason Daniel Daugherty. New trial dates of April 16-17 were scheduled.

During a bond hearing, Taylor Douglas Nygard was released on his own recognizance. He must submit to drug testing three times a week.

Charissa Josette Boast changed her plea to guilty for possession of drugs.

Shadey Ann Marie Wienke made a not guilty plea to the charge of criminal possession of dangerous drugs. An omnibus hearing was scheduled for Jan. 14.
