The Bulls dropped both home contests against a strong Crosby, N.D., legion baseball squad during action on Wednesday, June 18.

After losing the first game by a 10-0 margin, the Bulls bounced back for a close 10-8 defeat in the second contest.

A two-run homer by Brooks Solem produced a 2-0 advantage for the Bulls in the first inning.

Crosby, however, came back with three runs in the top of the third, including a two-run home run, to grab a 3-2 lead.

The Bulls’ Plenny Williams connected for a hit to bring home Tristan Tommerup for a 3-3 deadlock after three innings of play. After Crosby accounted for three runs in the top of the fourth inning, the Bulls closed the gap to 6-4 when Trent Williams singled and went on to score in the bottom of the frame.

Crosby led 7-4 until the Bulls tallied two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Sacrifice flies by Van Fellon and Solem brought home T. Williams and Aden Drake.

The margin increased to 10-6 when Crosby added three runs in the top of the seventh.

P. Williams belted a tworun homer over the rightfield fence to pull the Bulls to 10-8 in the bottom of the seventh. The team’s rally ended on a double-play.

Solem pitched five strong innings for the Bulls. Henry Kukowski threw the last two frames.
