Jessie Lynn White, Waste’ Wiya (Good Woman), 27, formerly of Frazer, died Feb. 12, 2024, in Havre. She was born to Curtis White and Brandy Long on March 20, 1996 in Wolf Point. She and sister Josie were two peas in a pod, so close they were together until the end. She was a very quiet and happy baby. She slept through the night and learned her milestones at a very young age, walking at 10 months. She always enjoyed the outdoors and playing with her sister, brother and cousin. In HeadStart, she started early because she was eager to learn. When she entered elementary, junior high and high school, she never missed a day of school. She loved school so much and would wake herself up to go. In high school, she was prom princess and queen, was a cheerleader for four years and played basketball, football, cross country and track. She graduated as salutatorian of the class of 2014 from Frazer High School. After graduating, she was a certified Nurses Aide and worked at the Faith Home in Wolf Point. She also worked at First Community Bank as a teller, the Old Town Grill as a waitress, McDonalds as a fry cook and at Cenex West in Wolf Point. She later met Terrell Hamilton. They were together for five years and had Kaisen Lee and Bryor James. Her face would light up and she was overjoyed with overwhelming love over the birth of her first born, Kaisen. She was a phenomenal mother when she was with her baby boy. Later, Bryor James was born. In 2023, she met Brant LaFrombois. She moved to Havre with her sister, Josie, in 2022. Together, they worked at the Super 8 motel. She and Josie were inseparable, always on the phone texting, messaging or calling. They lived together and were always jabbing, teasing and calling each other ugly. She and her brother, Justin, were very close. She and Justin did much together, going hunting, fishing and boating. She is survived by her parents, Curtis (Sheena) White and Brandy Long; son, Kaisen Hamilton; grandparents, Roxy MacDonald and Terry Long; siblings, Josie Mclean, Justin White, Courage Bigleggins, Trey White and Lennox White. She was preceded in death by her son, Bryor. Her funeral was held Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Pahin Wakpa Baptist Church in Frazer. Interment followed at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Frazer. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.

Helen W. Burt, 92, died Feb. 21, 2024, in Billings. She was born Nov. 16, 1931, to Oliver and Viola (Johnson) Montgomery. She was later joined by sisters Lona Lee and Jeanie. She spoke often of her wonderful childhood memories growing up in Wolf Point. She attended school in Wolf Point where she enjoyed playing the French horn and trumpet in the pep and marching band and singing in the high school choir. She loved anything involving music including dancing. During her junior year of high school in 1948, she was chosen as the Wolf Point delegate to attend the first-ever Montana Girls State at Rocky Mountain College. She also helped put on the 50th anniversary in 1998. While in high school, she caught the eye of Jim Burt. She attended one year of college at Jamestown, N.D., before returning to him in Wolf Point. They married on Sept. 16, 1950, and spent almost 60 years together until his death in 2010. They had five sons and one daughter, Rick, Dave, Terry, Jerry, Bob and Marilyn. In Wolf Point, she worked for Mountain State Telephone as a telephone operator and then as a secretary for Montana-Dakota Utilities. In 1961, they moved to Nashua with their four older boys after purchasing the grocery store in partnership with Jim’s parents, Walt and Jo Burt. They named the new store B& B Foods and made it a successful business by working hard seven days a week for 15 years. After selling the store in 1976 and a short break, she went to work at Gallagher, Archambeault & Knierim Law Offices in Glasgow for 18 years and retired in 1996. She enjoyed many years attending her children's and grandsons’ educational, musical and sporting events. She wore purple exceptionally well and was a loyal supporter of the Nashua Porkies. She was community-minded and joined many clubs and leagues. She was a 60-year member of the Eastern Star and was actively involved in her church. She enjoyed pinochle, bridge and whist. She was an avid reader and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She also acquired many trophies from bowling and golfing. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burt; and sisters, Lona Simensen and Jean Pohl. She is survived by six children, Rick, Dave, Terry, Jerry, Bob and Marilyn; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services are planned for June 29 in Glasgow.
