Culbertson voters approved a special levy for a new bathhouse at the Culbertson swimming pool during the election held on Tuesday, June 4. The request was approved by a 123-86 margin. The levy language on the ballots asked for approximately $750,000 to build the structure, but current funds pledged and raised thus far amount to $507,000, reducing the burden to the town down to less then $200,000.

The Roosevelt County Commissioners met with the compensation board to discuss salaries of elected officials for fiscal year 2024-2025 on Wednesday, June 5. Commissioner Gordon Oelkers explained the compensation board recommends to commissioners what board members wish to do. Commissioners then take a straw vote at the meeting before making a final decision during a regular commissioners’ meeting.

The Culbertson Town Council held its regular meeting Monday, June 11. Council members discussed the town cleanup effort, which they agreed was successful.
