Seventeen-year-old senior Cayden Boyd says his immediate future may include military service. He says the spring and sumer will likely include working as a laborer for a local company, Rocky Mountain Fencing and Hay Grinding.

Boyd told the Community News that he also likes to visit 2023 Bainville grad Adrian Anderson in Williston, N.D., whenever possible.

Boyd played sports for the Bulldogs, including basketball and football. He moved around on the gridiron, rotating through key positions.

“I started at quarterback,” Boyd said, “and moved to running back.” He added that he played safety on defense and “a little linebacker.”

When asked to name a favorite educator, Boyd said, “Mr. Ort was my favorite, but he isn’t there anymore.” Gary Ort taught physical education at the school.

Boyd moved to Northeast Montana from the Duck Valley Indian Reservation in Nevada when he was eight years old with mom Rayelle and stepfather David Wheeler, who is a local music teacher. Boyd is also musically inclined and while he says, “there aren’t many opportunities” to play in the area, he is nonetheless proficient in drums, guitar and bass. His other hobbies include video games and skateboarding.

As for summer, Boyd says he plans to, “Save money and have some good times.”
