Bainville High School senior Alex Strickland is a fan favorite when it comes to the basketball court.

Strickland holds the school’s record with 24 dunks during his career. He says his favorite one came against Savage because it put the Bulldogs ahead with about a minute to go and Bainville went on to win the contest.

The three-sport athlete said that basketball is his favorite activity.

“It’s just more active and there’s more team play than the other sports I play,” Strickland explained.

In football, Strickland was a key player for the Bulldogs at receiver and kicker. A highlight was catching a 75-yard touchdown pass against Richey/Lambert.

He kicked extra points for the Bulldogs during the last three seasons. He says he has improved and even kicked a 50-yard field goal try in practice.

Strickland has golfed for the Bulldogs in all of his high school seasons. He qualified for the state tournament as a sophomore.

His goal for this golf season is to shoot below 85 so he qualifies for the state meet before the divisional tournament.

Another activity for Strickland is Business Professionals of America. He placed 10th at state in small business management this year.

“It’s pretty fun,” Strickland said of BPA.

Hobbies for Strickland include hunting and fishing.

His favorite class is anatomy. After high school, Strickland plans to work toward obtaining a real estate license.

“I think it would be a fun job because there’s a lot of opportunities,” Strickland said.
