Poplar’s Bailey Dupree is only a sophomore, but she showed the composure of a more experienced player when she went to the foul stripe with 2.7 seconds left in the Indians’ home girls’ basketball game against Froid/ Lake on Friday, Jan. 6. With the Indians behind by a 61-59 margin, Dupree knocked down three free throws to give the Indians a 62-61 victory. The Red Hawks held a 4746 lead

Jack Svendsen


Jack William Svendsen, 76, died Dec. 25, 2022, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born June 28, 1946, in Williston, N.D., to Oscar and Maude (Kincaid) Svendsen, the youngest of three, James and Jane Jeppe. Jack grew up in Froid. He attended NMC and the U of M. He married Judy Mossestad in 1966. They had one daughter, Jody Lynn. He was employed by several Montana banks during a 56-year career.
