Gorder Earns Collegiate Honor

Poplar native Jazmin Gorder has earned recognition to the All-Academic Team of Excellence for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Gorder is a sophomore at Minot State University in North Dakota and is majoring in nursing. She competes for the Beavers in cross country and wrestling.

Minot State freshman Jasiah Hambira cleared 6 feet, 7.75 inches in his collegiate debut on Saturday, finishing second in the men’s high jump at the Marauder Indoor Opener and writing his name into the Minot State record books from day one. The results are in from the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Havre check station for the 2023 hunting season. The check station was open for eight weekends from Oct. 7 (the opener of general antelope and pheasant) through Nov. 26 (the end of the deer/ elk general season). Overall, hunter numbers and upland game bird harvest were above average, and big game harvest was below average. Biologists
