Thieves working along the northern Roosevelt County border stole what must have been truckloads of items from two homes recently. The sheriff’s office reported dozens of items, including three rifles, a chair, two walkie-talkies and three tires, taken from the home of Carl Norgaards, 30 miles north of Poplar Nov. 29.

The Tom McGowan ranch, 40 miles north of Poplar, also reported a load missing Thursday of last week. McGowan told sheriff’s deputies that a television, revolver, camera, radio, statues and a number of other things were taken from his home.

There are no suspects, according to Sheriff Leo Cody.
