Fort Kipp Celebration Set

The Fort Kipp Celebration is set for this weekend south of U.S. Highway 2 between Brockton and Culbertson. The annual powwow will run from Aug. 25-27. Grand entries will be held in the afternoons and evenings Friday, Saturday and Sunday for royalty and dancers in all categories, with daily specials offered. Featuring one of the top runners in the state, Wolf Point’s cross-country team started pre-season practice on Friday, Aug. 11. Peyton Summers, a senior, earned All-State honors by placing 12th at last year’s Class B state competition. “He’s hoping to win it this year,” coach Stacey Summers said. “Peyton has been working hard this summer. He’s been doing 10 miles or more a day.”
