Wolf Point Drops Match Against Fairview Squad

 

Wolf Point’s volleyball team came up short in the semi-final round of the District 2B tournament against Fairview on Friday, Oct. 27. The Wolves dropped the match by a final of 25-23, 2125, 25-17, 23-25, 9-15.

The Wolves trailed by a 2322 margin in the first set and pulled even on a block by Gabrielle Fourbear.

Wolf Point then accounted for the final two points including a set ending serve by Sierra Hamilton.

The Wolves led by a 19-18 margin in the second set, but Fairview grabbed a 21-19 advantage. A back-row kill by Hamilton helped Wolf Point tie the score at 21-21.

Fairview struck for the last four points of the second set for a 25-21 victory.

The serving of Kaleah Miller- Toves led the Wolves to a 19-15 advantage in the third set. A kill by Kashlyn Speak Thunder increased the gap to 22-16.

Ahead by a 24-17 margin, the Wolves ended the third set with a spike by Gabrielle Fourbear.

Kills by Hamilton put Wolf Point ahead by a 22-20 margin in the fourth set. After the Warriors struck for three straight points, a spike by Miller-Toves resulted in a 2323 deadlock.

Fairview tallied the last two points of the fourth set to force a fifth set.

After the Warriors jumped out to a 5-0 lead, Wolf Point fought back to 7-5 on kills by Hamilton. A kill by Keeley Blount-Henderson kept the Wolves close at 11-7.

A spike by Joli Beston cut Fairview’s lead to 11-9, but Fairview scored the last four points of the match.
