Plentywood Girls Fight Off Culbertson


The Culbertson Cowgirls suffered a 60-40 home loss against conference rival Plentywood on Saturday, Jan. 7.

Plentywood jumped out to a 16-8 lead in the first quarter and held a 29-20 advantage at intermission.

The Cowgirls battled back to close the margin to 38-33 during the third quarter.

Plentywood struck for 22 points in the fourth quarter for the league victory.

Makena Hauge led the Cowgirls with 19 points. Destiny Thompson finished with 10 points.

Also scoring for Culbertson were Perla Burciaga with four, Alicyn Ator with three, Megan Granbois with two and Ayden Ator with two.

Leading the Wildcats were Emma Brensdal with 19, Audrey Sampson with 14, Annie Kaul with 13 and Mallory Tommerup with 12 points.

The Cowgirls will head to Bainville on Friday, Jan. 13, and Savage on Saturday, Jan. 14.
