Valley County Experiences Increase In COVID Cases

Valley County Health Department has received reports confirming 12 positive COVID persons. Symptoms began May 7 through this past weekend, which means that these persons were contagious in the community beginning May 5. Each of these 12 persons have been sick enough to seek medical care. Roosevelt County had one active COVID cases as of Friday, May 13. There have been 74 COVID-related deaths

Twelve Graduate At Bainville School

Bainville Public School saw a full gym for their centennial graduation ceremony Saturday, May 14. The Class of 2022 includes Whitney Nehring, Braeden Romo, Micah Anderson, Wyatt Iverson, Emma Poser, Kaige Bratcher, Kaitlyn Adkins, Rudy Kummer, Chelsea Parker, Jesse Strickland, Latesha Brady and Lakyn Rabbe. Kaitlyn Adkins provided the welcome address and Emma Poser delivered the invocation.

The National Weather Service in Glasgow received reports of 2.10 inches of rainfall at Wolf Point’s L.M. Clayton Airport during the May 12-13 precipitation event across the area. Other area totals include 1.83 inches were recorded at the Poplar River, with 1.56 inches at Scobey by the afternoon on May 13 and a little over an inch at Lustre. The 2020 census missed nearly one of every 17 Native Americans who live on reservations, an undercount that could very well lead to insufficient federal funding for essential health, nutrition and social programs in remote communities with high poverty rates and scarce access to services. Brockton High School celebrated their 2022 graduates during a ceremony in the school gym Friday, May 13. The event began at 6 p.m. Attendance was high, with close relatives of the graduates seated on the floor in front of the stage.
