The District 1C volleyball tournament will begin in Scobey with six matches scheduled on Thursday, Oct. 28.

There are six matches set for Friday, Oct. 29, and seven more matches on Saturday, Oct. 30.

The championship match will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The top five teams advance to the Eastern C divisional tournament in Sidney.

Plentywood, Froid/Lake and North Country are the top three seeds entering the tournament.

The Red Hawks will meet the winner of the Savage against either Nashua or MonDak match at 7 p.m. on Thursday. If Froid/Lake wins that match, the Red Hawks will face either North Country or Richey/Lambert at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The Culbertson Cowgirls enter the tournament as the fourth seed and will square off against Scobey at 5 p.m. on Thursday. If they defeat the Spartans, the Cowgirls’ next match is 5 p.m. on Friday.

If Bainville defeated Lustre in a play-in match on Tuesday, the Bulldogs will face the Fairview/Frazer winner at 9 a.m. on Thursday.

Plentywood won the regular- season title with a 12-0 conference mark. The Wildcats have a 14-0 overall record. Froid/Lake finished with an 11-1 league record and a 14-1 overall mark. The Red Hawks’ lone defeat came against Plentywood.

North Country placed third with a 9-3 league mark. Culbertson and Scobey each had 8-4 conference records.
