JMG To Participate In Ride For Tomorrow June 19
A motorcycle ride to raise awareness for suicide prevention has been planned by Yellowstone American Legion Riders, Dog Tag Buddies and Tenacious Dames Riding Club. The Ride for Tomorrow will take place June 19 and encompasses both an official Iron Butt ride (1,000 miles in 24 hours) and various summer solstice routes. A stop is planned in Culbertson at Sinclair. Jobs for Montana Graduates students and teachers will be greeting participants. Stops are also planned in Glendive and Malta.
“There are so many things that make this great state the most wonderful place in the world,” states the Ride for Tomorrow eventbrite page. “However, our suicide rates being among the highest in the nation is not one of them.”
The ride is a competitive challenge for riders from across the county. Ride For Tomorrow plans to double the impact of this event by starting a dialogue of suicide prevention and awareness and carrying it for 1,000 miles.
Funds raised for this event will support future Question, Persuade and Refer presentations around the state to help Montanans recognize the warning signs of suicide, know how to offer hope to someone in crisis and know how to effectively get help.
