Frontier Days Kicks Off Friday

Frontier Days in Culbertson is set to begin Friday, June 11. Culbertson Saddle Club volunteers have built a new fence along the highway and spruced up the rodeo grounds in anticipation of the two-day event.

Street dances are planned for Friday at the Montana Bar and Saturday at the Saddle Club, where a full bar will be available after the rodeo. Concessions are available on the grounds. No carry-in beverages are allowed.

The annual Firemenā€™s Breakfast fundraiser in Culbertson is set for June 12. The event will take place at the Wild West Diner beginning at 7 a.m. Admission is free. Donations and all proceeds will go to the Culbertson Volunteer Fire Department. A social media post from organizers states that the event will run until 10 a.m., with service inside the diner and behind the building on the lawn.

Featured rodeo events will include bull riding, bareback, calf roping, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping, ladies breakaway, junior barrels, junior breakaway (Friday) and wild calf race (Saturday). The estimated purse for the rodeo is $20,000. Big Circle Rodeo will serve as stock contractor. Slack is set for 9 a.m. Saturday.

Root beer floats are on offer following the parade June 12 from 1-3 p.m. at the Culbertson Museum.
