Mary Lou Quint (Grandahl) Hendrickson was born to parent’s Ai (Buster) Quint and Mary Schlabs Quint on March 9, 1934, in Plentywood, Mont. She attended all 12 years and graduated from Medicine Lake High School.

In 1952, she married Marlin Grandahl of Medicine Lake, Mont. To this union, four children were born, Jerry, Rhea, Sandra and Denise. Tragically in 1965, Marlin lost his life in a small airplane crash, leaving Mary Lou to raise her four young children. Mary Lou went to work at Medicine Lake school and drove school bus. In 1976, she began working at Montana National Bank, now Plentywood Bank of Bridger, in Plentywood, Mont., retiring in 1997 and married Orville Hendrickson of Dagmar, Mont.

Some highlights of Mary Lou's 87 years were: She was proud of her 63 years as a VFW Auxiliary member, serving half those years as Medicine Lake Auxiliary president. She was named District 5 President of the year at the Department in 1966. She also served as a color bearer at the district and department meets for several years. She is a chartered member of Medicine Lake Lutheran Church, working with Sunday school, ladies aid and was treasurer for 16 years.

Mary Lou was an avid bowler, Red Hatter and loved to dance (in her younger days) and, when possible, visiting her kids and grandkids. Mary Lou loved listening to music, her favorites being county western and patriotic.

She is survived by her husband, Orville, four children, Jerry and Carol Grandahl, Rhea Grandahl, Sandra and Tom Mahrer, Denise and Mike Odde; grandchildren, Jessica Valdez, Katie Odde, Dane Odde and Bo Grandahl; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Taya Valdez, Shelby and Adam Odde and Ruby Grandahl; and stepchildren, Wayne and Bryon Hendrickson and Brenda Koenig and their families.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Ai (Buster) and Mary Quint.

A service will be held at Medicine Lake Lutheran Church on Friday, March 26, 2021, beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Medicine Lake Cemetery following the funeral service.
