The Bainville Bulldogs have 10 athletes out for the school’s track team this season.

Because the state didn’t have track last year due to COVID concerns, there isn’t a lot of high school experience available for the Bulldogs.

Kaden Hansen, a senior, is the only current member who was on Bainville’s track team two years ago. Hansen is expected to be one of the top throwers in the district and divisional this year.

Emma Poser, a transfer student from Trenton, N.D., has earned honors for distance running in both track and cross country.

Micah Anderson, a junior, is anticipated to be a solid thrower for Bainville’s girls’ team.

“We’re very young,” Bainville Coach Chance Hyatt said.

The squad features two sophomores and six freshmen.

Hyatt notes that Hansen provides good leadership for the team. “They are all hard working,” the coach said.

“The biggest goal is staying healthy and improving every week,” Hyatt said. “We have a lot of good attitudes.”

The Bulldogs have good balance between runners and throwers.

“There’s a lot of potential,” Hyatt said. “We just have to unlock it.”

The Bulldogs are scheduled to open their season in Glasgow on Thursday, April 1.

The District 2C meet is set for Tuesday, May 11, in Lambert. The Eastern C divisional meet is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, in Sidney.
