Olson Takes First At Speech And Drama Invitiational
By James Walling The Culbertson High School speech and drama team competed at their last virtual invitational meet of the season Jan. 16.
Placing in the Great Falls Central B/C meet were Colby Olson, first place in dramatic solo; Trevor Green, second place in informative speaking and Zach Miller placed ninth in informative.
Also competing were Eric Chilson, Morgan Lucas and Joseph Mc- Carty.
In team sweepstakes, Culbertson placed second at the state level and 1st for the Eastern division in Class C drama. They placed seventh for Class C Speech among all class C schools and second for the Eastern Division.
Jan. 23 will find the team competing virtually in the BC Eastern divisional meet, which is hosted by Culbertson. The top 6 competitors in each Montana High School Association sanctioned event at the Divisional meet will move on to the state tournament, which will be virtually hosted by Huntley Project on Jan. 28-30.
Coach Jeri Gustafson told the Community News that the team owes a special thanks to individuals who have helped fulfill the spots for judges at area competitions.
