Bainville’s school staff and parents strongly displayed their commitment to their students by having great attendance during a Family Night at the school Thursday, Oct. 1.

Bainville activities director Tanya Wilson explained that the school district has held a Family Night for each of the last five years. She noted the event is to support the Title I program. The goal is to encourage families to get more involved in their child’s education.

Because of social distancing, Family Night featured a different look this time around.

“It’s the first outside opportunity,” Wilson said.

The Bainville Community Association donated food including cheeseburgers for the event.

Activities included a hay ride, face painting, photos with a Bulldog, picking a pumpkin from a pumpkin patch, skee ball, pin a nose on a pumpkin, mini golf, football toss and basketball shoot.

Wilson explained that in the past that Family Night featured more STEM-based activities including a citizenship test.

“It looks a little different this year because of social distancing,” Wilson said. “This year, we’ve targeted a lot of our PE standards.”
