Cowgirls Knock Off Brockton, 65-23

The Culbertson Cowgirls posted a 65-23 home conference victory over Brockton on Thursday, Jan. 5.

Culbertson gained a 23-6 advantage in the first quarter. Leading the way were Megan Granbois with nine points and Makena Hauge with eight points in the period.

The Cowgirls increased the margin to 43-9 in the second period. Destiny Thompson hit two three-pointers and scored 10 points in the quarter.

Culbertson led 60-19 after three quarters of action. Hauge tallied seven points in the period.

Hauge finished the game with 19 points, all in the first three quarters, to go over the 1,000 point mark for her high school career.

Granbois also scored 19 points while Thompson had 18 points.

Also scoring were Perla Burciaga with four, Leandra Perkins with three and Marianna Burciaga with two points.

Tamryn Bauer led Brockton with 11 points. Ava Lone Bear added five points.
