County Approves Funds For Culbertson, Wolf Point Projects
Roosevelt County commissioners approved using ARPA [American Rescue Plan Act] Bucket B funds for projects in Culbertson and Wolf Point during their weekly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
Commissioners approved $251,346.23 to the town of Culbertson for its Highway 2 sewer and water project. Commissioner Gordon Oelkers explained the Highway 2 project will cost a total of about $18 million. The funds from the county will help Culbertson, which will match the $251.346 funds, cover the amount for just the sewer and water project.
Commissioners also approved $440,234.33 for the city of Wolf Pointâs water and wastewater project. A smaller amount was earlier approved, but this will make sure that the county spends all of its $921,957,000 received from the state for projects throughout the county.
âThis is so we donât have to send anything back to the state,â Oelkers said.
A total of 21 bids were received regarding purchasing two trailer houses located at McCabe. The highest bids came from Next Resources at $24,100 for the north unit and $18,100 for the south unit.
Funds received will go back into the budgets for the road shop and sheriffâs office.
Commissioners approved a memorandum of understanding between the county and the James E. Shanley Library. The three-year agreement reads that the county will provide $21,100 annually to support the tribal library.
Commissioners accepted the resignation of newly hired deputy Austin Burshia.
Elizaveta Moore was approved to be hired as a deputy for the sheriffâs office. She resides in Bainville.
