Richland Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Drug Charges
Tammy Jo Sievers, 58, Richland, made not guilty pleas to two counts during her initial hearing in District Court on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Sievers made the pleas for the charges of being in possession of dangerous drugs, meth, with the intent to distribute and being in possession of drug paraphernalia.
If found guilty of the intent to distribute charge, she could be sentenced for up to 20 years and fined up to $50,000 or both.
She is charged with committing the crime in Roosevelt County on Sept. 11.
A trial date was set for April 15, 2021.
A motion was made to reduce Sievers’ bond. Roosevelt County Attorney Austin Knudsen said he didn’t have a problem of reducing the bond amount to $10,000. The defense requested the bond amount to be reduced more and pointed out that Sievers kept checking with court officials even when she wasn’t yet in jail. Her criminal history includes no offenses during the past eight years.
District Judge Katherine Bidegaray, who was sitting in for District Judge David Cybulski, reduced the bond to
$5,000.
