Speaker Connects with Froid Students
Froid High School students were encouraged to recognize their value and their ability to make a di rence during a school assembly Tuesday, Sept. 15.
National speaker and author Terrence Lee Talley connected with students through personal stories, humor and hands-on activities while addressing mental health, bullying and challenges within broken homes.
“You matter, and because you matter, you can make a di rence,” Talley told the students.
His message made a strong impression on the student body, according to school offi cials. “It was a really good talk that hit our students pretty hard,” Superintendent Lance Olson said.
Rather than simply speaking to the audience, Talley encouraged students to take part in the presentation. His interactive approach helped bring di_cult subjects into the open while reminding students that their experiences and choices matter.
Talley has traveled across the country for more than eight years, speaking to students and adults. In one year alone, he addressed more than 270,000 students, becoming one of the nation’s most sought-after school assembly speakers.
He is also the author of “Secrets Anonymous,” which explores mental health and addiction through stories inspired by real students. The book reached No. 1 in its category on Amazon.
Talley, who describes himself as a husband, father, movie lover and comic book fan, left Froid students with a simple but powerful reminder: Each of them matters, and each has the ability to positively a ct the lives of others.
