Bainville Teams Down Froid/Lake

The Bainville Bulldogs came away with two league basketball victories over Froid/Lake on Saturday, Feb. 7.

In the boys’ game, the Bulldogs scored 27 points in the fourth quarter for a 64-53 win.

Down by a 41-37 margin entering the final period, Bainville outscored the Red Hawks 27-12 in the final period. Parker Berwick scored 13 points in the period. Holden Salivar added six points in the quarter.

The Bulldogs led 18-14 at the end of the opening quarter and 32-27 at the half.

The Red Hawks took the lead with 14 points in the third period. Carsen Kelm hit two three-pointers in the period.

Bainville’s top scorers were Berwick with 27, Rowan Wilson with 14 and Salivar with 11 points.

Also scoring were Kaiden Holmes with seven and Evan Anderson with five points.

Leading the Red Hawks were Carsen Aasheim with 15, Kelm with 12 and Aaron Orozco with 12 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Rylan Young with seven, Eddie Orozco with four and Jake Nordlund with three.

Bainville’s girls won by a 46-30 final.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 12-5 in the first quarter and enjoyed a 21-10 half-time advantage.

Bainvlle led 31-20 after three quarters of play.

Top scorers for the Bulldogs were Berwick with 14 and Lila Butikofer with 12 points.

Also scoring were Chandi Johnson with eight, Jodi Albus with four, Addison Hansen with four, Sophie Portra with two and Jaylynn Bjorge with two.

Leah Murray scored 11 points for the Red Hawks.

Rounding out the scoring were Atley Jensen with six, Isabelle Nordwick with six, Joelle Davidson with five, Keira Stentoft with five and Mira Bakken with three points.
