Froid/Lake Girls Beat Wildcats
The Froid/Lake Red Hawks completed a winning weekend in girls’ basketball by downing Plentywood, 50-42, on Saturday, Jan. 3.
After holding an 11-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Red Hawks scored 18 points in the second quarter for a 29-15 advantage.
Atley Jensen scored 23 points to lead the Red Hawks’ attack.
Laytyn Davidson also reached double figures with 10 points. Rounding out the scoring were Keira Stentoft with eight, Isabelle Nordwick with five and Avery Johnson with four.
In the boys’ game, Plentywood broke away in the second quarter to earn a 63-25 victory.
The Wildcats outscored Froid/Lake 25-3 in the second period for a 39-13 margin. Plentywood held a 56-16 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Carsen Kelm scored eight points to lead the Red Hawks. Rylan Young and Eddie Orozco had four points each. Also scoring were Teegan Fossum with three, Cody Olson with two and Colton Nordwick with two.
