Schwarzrock Stays Involved At School
Senior Profile
Wolf Point High School senior Riley Schwarzrock hasn’t been afraid to try different activities during her time at the school. From basketball to tennis, she has participated in many sports for the Wolves.
Her list of activities have included swing choir for two years, basketball for two years, volleyball for four years, flag football for two years, cheer for two years and tennis for four years.
She picks tennis as her favorite sport. After playing singles for her first two years, she is now competing in doubles with teammate Lauren Rodenberg.
“There’s less stress and moving around,” Schwarzrock said of why she enjoys doubles more than singles. She added that Rodenberg is a fun person to have as a doubles’ partner.
Last season, the two qualified for the state tournament and won a match at the state level.
Schwarzrock’s goals for this spring include returning to state and playing harder.
A highlight of her volleyball career was starting on senior night. She helped the Wolves win the match against Plentywood by serving several aces. “I just became a different person, I guess,” Schwarzrock joked of why she played so well that match.
She also liked playing softball in the summer, but she suffered serious injuries in each of the past two seasons.
“I like it when I don’t get hurt,” she said of softball.
In the classroom, her favorite subject is child development.
“We get to learn how to take care of a baby and everything,” she said. Her favorite teacher is Will Larsen. “He makes the class fun.”
After high school, Schwarzrock plans to earn a business degree from Fort Peck Community College and then attend cosmetology school in Flathead County.
