Bainville Stops Brockton, 68-0
The Bainville Bulldogs exploded for 55 points in the first half and won at Brockton, 68-0, in football action on Saturday, Sept. 20.
On Brockton’s first play from scrimmage, Bainville’s Kaiden Holmes recovered a fumble for the Bulldogs. After a 23-yard pass play from Rowan Wilson to Holmes and a 19-yard completion from Wilson to Holden Salivar, the Bulldogs scored on a seven-yard run by Wilson. Austin Eveland’s kick put the margin at 8-0.
Defensive plays by Salivar and Parker Berwick gave the Bulldogs possession at the Brockton 30. The Bulldogs went on to score on an 11yard throw from Wilson to Berwick with 6:20 left in the first quarter. Eveland’s kick was good for a 16-0 lead.
Bainville’s next score came on a 30-yard scramble run by Wilson with 4:28 remaining in the period. Wilson passed to Eveland for the conversion.
Wilson, a senior, then intercepted a pass and raced 31 yards for a kickoff. Eveland’s kick put the gap at 31-0.
Bainville’s final touchdown of the first quarter came on a seven-yard throw from Wilson to Salivar for a 37-0 advantage.
The Bulldogs added a score early in the second period on a four-yard run by Salivar to increase their lead to 43-0.
Bainville’s Evan Anderson intercepted a pass and went 25 yards for a touchdown with 6:12 left in the half.
The Bulldogs reached the end zone on a fourth-down pass from Wilson to Berwick for 31 yards with 33 seconds left in the half to put the margin at 55-0.
Bainville scored two touchdowns in the second half on passes from Wilson to Salivar and Keagan Vaira.
The Bulldogs will host Broadus on Saturday, Sept. 27.
