Lustre Boys Capture Third-Place Award At Divisional Meet

Championship efforts by Johnslee Pierre and Prestyn Klatt led the Lustre Lions to the third-place trophy honor at the divisional track meet on Tuesday, May 13.

The Lions finished with 104 points. The top two boys’ teams were Plentywood with 122 and Culbertson with 118.

Pierre, a junior, broke the meet record in the triple jump with a personal best of 46-3. Pierre also earned first place in the long jump with a personal best of 22-2, first in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.76 seconds and first in the 300-meter hurdles at 42.94 seconds.

Klatt, a sophomore, finished first in the 800 at 2:03.64, first in the 1600 at 4:45.27 and first in the 3200 with a personal best of 10:18.79.

The 1600-meter relay team featuring KJ Brown, Diek Olfert, Byron Ewing and Pierre finished first with a time of 3:39.13.

The 400-meter relay team of Yoseph Lee, Kayden Charette, Brown and Ewing placed third with a time of 47.23 seconds.

Ewing ran the 400 in a personal best time of 53.84 seconds for third place.

Mason Hilkemann placed fourth in the discus at 1205 and fifth in the shot put at 40-3.

Olfert posted a personal best of 19-8 for fourth place in the long jump. The junior placed sixth in the 800 at 2:12.74.

Charette cleared 5-6 for sixth place in the high jump.

Lustre’s girls had 10 points for 11th place. Topping the standings were Circle with 96, Scobey with 89 and Richey/Lambert with 75.

Lustre’s Sidney Klatt finished third in the 3200 with a personal best time of 13:31.34. The freshman placed fifth in the 1600 with a personal best time of 6:16.17.

Lauryn Holzrichter qualified for the state meet by taking fifth place in the 300-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 51.72 seconds.

Other divisional champions in the boys’ division included Plentywood’s Henry Kukowski in the 100 and 200, Scobey’s Konner Ollfer in the 400, Saco’s Blaine Downing in the shot put and pole vault, Culbertson’s Plenny Williams in the discus, Culbertson’s Brooks Solem in the javelin and Savage’s Zane Pilgeram in the high jump.

Divisional champions in the girls’ division were Savage’s Cambry Conradsen in the 100, 200 and 400, Scobey’s Cambrie Holum in the 800, Whitewater’s Shelbi LaBrie in the 1600, Scobey’s Mya Green in the 3200, Richey/Lambert’s Jolee Klempel in the 100-meter hurdles and long jump, Circle’s Kate Nasner in the 300-meter hurdles, Scobey’s Kaytie Aanstad in the shot put, Circle’s Madeline Moline in the discus, Circle’s Emma Murphy in the javelin, Hinsdale’s BaiLee McColly in the high jump, Savage’s Mylee Reuter in the pole vault and Richey/Lambert’s Brynne Hill in the triple jump.
