Track athletes from Wolf Point and Poplar each enjoyed success at a 12-team track meet held in Glasgow on Monday, April 7.

The Wolves took fifth in the girls’ team standings with 47 points and eighth in the boys’ standings with 24 points.

Sean Hamilton, a junior, led Wolf Point’s boys with a first in the javelin (149-2), a second in the discus (128-11) and a third in the shot put (41-7).

Adalynn Smith ran to a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash at 1:06.37 for Wolf Point’s girls.

The Wolves finished first in the 400-meter relay with a time of 54.98 seconds. Running the relay were Navella Weeks, Amirah Oleyte, Harper Weeks and Smith.

The 1600-meter relay team of N. Weeks, Oleyte, Candence Bouldin and Smith earned second at 4:46.40.

N. Weeks placed second in the 200 at 29.16 seconds. Bouldin finished second in the 3200 at 14:31.86.

Teagan Williams cleared 7-0 for fifth place in the pole vault. Smith took sixth in the 100 at 14.33 seconds.

Placing seventh were Amya Martinez at 85-2 in the discus, H. Weeks at 13-4 in the long jump and 57.36 in the 300-meter hurdles. Taking eighth were N. Weeks in the 100, Bouldin in the 800, Williams in the 100-meter hurdles, Ma’Kenzie Jackson in the discus and Marley Moran in the javelin.

Poplar’s boys scored 27.5 points and the girls finished with 14 points.

Kaniel Ricker accounted for a strong performance with a first in the triple jump at 39-10, fourth in the long jump at 17-2 and sixth in the high jump by clearing 5-4.

Walker Burshia had a best of 42-05 for second place in the shot put.

Wilder Bearcub took fifth in the 300-meter hurdles at 49.14 and sixth in the 800 at 2:21.08.

Keilen Erickson earned fifth in the javelin with a best of 121-2. Raylando Red Eagle was eighth in the 800 at 2:29.49.

In the girls’ division, Poplar’s Lilliana O’Neal placed third in the discus at 95-11 and sixth in the shot put at 28-6.

Alara Cooper placed fourth in the 800 at 2:50.06 and fifth in the 1600 at 6.51.66.

Paige Gray Hawk took sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:18.31.
