Chamber Continues Work On Improving Appearance
The Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture has decided to go another route with funds through the T-Mobile Hometown Grant. Directors said that due to unforeseen circumstances with the previous plan of improving the Stampede’s grandstand, the new project is a downtown window replacement program.
Executive director Jayden Diener is researching window/ glass alternatives to replace boarded up windows downtown. Board member Jeff Presser said the train station uses a type of window material that’s thick and appears fairly attractive.
“It looks good and you can’t break it,” Presser said.
Chamber directors agreed to have the Jordan World Circus return to Wolf Point this year. Directors noted that last year’s circus was well attended and the community appreciated having something fun to do.
Directors are planning to provide snacks during a “Farmer Spring Seeding” delivery near the end of April or start of May.
Diener plans to put Easter eggs at participating businesses where people can win Chamber Bucks, gift certificates and other prizes.
The chamber agreed to purchase flat screen TVs so volunteers can watch the Stampede from the concessions stand. Diener reported that the Chamber has submitted a request of $2,000 for a Reimagining Rural Grant. Projects include Take Action Tuesday where volunteers help beautify the town, Nellie’s Park Revitalization and Movies/ Chamber officials are also researching how to become part of the Tree City USA program.
With a full plate of activities, directors decided to start having meetings every other week.
