Bainville Girls Stop Brockton, 59-38

Bainville’s girls’ basketball team clinched second place in the regular-season standings with a 59-38 home victory over Brockton on Saturday, Feb. 14.

The Bulldogs enjoyed a strong start with a 17-8 lead in the first quarter. Bainville held a 29-16 half-time advantage.

After leading 39-24 at the end of the third quarter, the Bulldogs scored 20 more points in the final period.

Hailey Berwick led Bainville’s attack with 23 points. Lila Butikofer finished with 11 points.

Also scoring were Addison Hansen with nine, Chandi Johnson with six, Jodi Albus with four, Zyley Poitra with two, Tenley Berwick with two and Johnna Ryder with one.

Leading Brockton were Tamryn Bauer and Quintana Young with 15 points each.
