Area Golfers Place At Tournaments

Golfers from Wolf Point and Poplar fared well during play in Shelby and Malta during the weekend.

Poplar’s Kaniel Ricker placed second with a 78 at the Shelby Invitational on Friday. Jefferson’s Tyson Lee shot a 70 for medalist honors.

Navarjo Escarcega of Poplar finished with a 93 to tie for 22nd place. Blake Lambert shot a 103 for 41st. Lukas Young took 48th with a 106.

Wolf Point’s Conway Turcotte finished with a 109 for 51st place. Chaz Kegley shot a 127 for 56th place.

In the girls’ division, Poplar’s Angelina Escarcega took 13th place at 109 and Wolf Point’s Maia Kent was 14th with a 110.

Poplar’s Frankie Crawford took 16th place by shooting a 119. Teammate Bree Brown tied for 27th at 126. Masina Youpee was 32nd at 132. Roseanna Youpee shot a 144.

At the Malta Invitational on Saturday, Poplar’s Ricker shot an 85 to tie for third place. Lambert tied for 10th place with a 95.

N. Escarcega finished with a 102 for 17th place. Young placed 21st with a 108.

Wolf Point’s Turcotte shot a 126 for 54th place. Kegley carded a 127 for 24th place.

In the girls’ division, Crawford shot a 123 for eighth place. Youpee had a 125 to tie for ninth place.

A. Escarcega finished with a 126 for 11th place. R. Youpee shot a 155.

Wolf Point’s golfers traveled to Sidney and competed at the Fairview Invitational on Tuesday, April 22.

Wolf Point’s Conway Turcotte placed 40th at the meet. Chaz Kegley took 46th place.

In the girls’ division, McKinlee Paulson took ninth place. Maia Kent placed 16th at the meet.
