The Poplar Indians put up a good fight but lost against Shelby in loser-out play at the Northern B divisional volleyball tournament in Choteau on Friday, Nov. 4.

Shelby edged Poplar by a 25-21, 25-10, 25-18, final margin.

Leading Poplar’s offensive attack were Kesse Erickson with seven kills and Morgen Nordwick with six kills. M. Nordwick finished with two blocks. Also having blocks were Erickson and Braelyn Nordwick.

Serving Poplar’s three aces were EmmaRae Martell, Cammie Martell and M. Nordwick.

Leaders in assists were Morgan Russell with seven and E. Martell with four. C. Martell finished with seven digs and E. Martell had six digs.

Leading Shelby were Adele Lamb with 10 kills and Michelle Celander with seven kills. Addie Richman accounted for 28 assists.

The Poplar Indians lost to powerhouse Choteau in the first round of the Northern B divisional volleyball tournament in Choteau on Thursday, Nov. 3.

Choteau scored a 25-14, 2513, 25-12, victory.

Leading Poplar’s attack were Kesse Erickson and Braelyn Nordwick with four kills each.

Serving two aces each were EmmaRae Martell and Morgen Nordwick. B. Nordwick had two blocks.

Leaders in assists were E. Martell with seven and Morgan Russell with four. M. Nordwick finished with 13 digs.

Leaders for Choteau included Tessa Brownell with 10 kills, Ella Peach with three aces and 16 assists and Asia Bouma with three blocks.
