Bulldogs Score Win Over Box Elder

The Bainville Bulldogs improved to 3-1 this football season with a 60-26 victory in Box Elder on Saturday, Sept. 17.

The Bulldogs struck first on a 10-yard pass from Cayden Boyd to Alex Strickland.

After Box Elder tied the score at 6-6, Boyd hit Adrian Anderson with a 10-yard touchdown pass. Sam Butikofer made a tackle in the end zone for a safety to put the margin at 14-6.

Bainville moved ahead by a 20-6 score when Boyd connected with Strickland on a 26-yard pass play. After another safety, Boyd completed a five-yard touchdown pass to Strickland for a 30-6 advantage. The Bulldogs led 3012 at the half.

After a touchdown by Box Elder, Charles Butikofer battled in on a run from the one. Strickland’s kick put the lead at 38-19 after three quarters of play. An eight-yard touchdown run by Boyd and a six-yard dash by C. Butikofer increased the lead to 50-19. Strickland hit another kick for a 52-19 advantage.

Bainville’s final touchdown came on a seven-yard run by C. Butikofer. Strickland’s kick put the margin at 60-19.

“Alex Strickland had a good day as a receiver and Trevor Robertus had a good day on defense,” Bainville Coach Shawn Romo said.

The Bulldogs will start conference action at Froid/ Lake on Saturday, Sept. 24.
