Bulls Prepare For Baseball Season

Froid’s baseball program is going strong and that includes another season for high school aged players.

The Agland Bulls are no longer playing in the American Legion ranks but rather are considered an independent.

Coach Scott Crain feels the move is a good one for the Bulls because the games should be more competitive. Another advantage is playing in tournaments instead of having only double-headers.

“You can play all your games at one time instead of three or four nights in a week,” Crain said.

Because each squad have challenges with the amount of players, Agland and Wolf Point will combine players for some of the tournaments.

The roster for the Bulls include Bode Miller of Froid, Javonne Nesbit of Froid, Braeden Romo of Bainville, Payton Perkins of Culbertson, Destiny Thompson of Culbertson, Ethan Justice of Culbertson, Colter Oie of Scobey, Cooper King of Scobey, Kash Ator of Plentywood and Nate Hentges of Glasgow.

The hard-hitting Miller was an All-Conference selection in 2020. His positions will include pitcher and catcher this year.

Oie earned All-Conference honors last season as he was a standout catcher and pitcher for the Bulls.

Romo also has solid pitching experience.

Crain said the squad will count of many players to take the mound this season.

“We have a coachable team,” Crain said. “We really appreciate all the kids coming over to play.”

The Bulls will play at a tournament in Watford City this weekend. The team will host Wolf Point on Tuesday, June 21.
