Senior Kinzie Appreciates Meeting People, Animals
Wolf Point High School senior Claire Kinzie finds pleasure in meeting new people whether it’s through activities or her after-school job.
Kinzie’s activities include being a member of the school’s swing choir and serving as manager for the girls’ basketball squad.
“I like all the songs we do and the people in class,” Kinzie said of swing choir. We are able to make new friends through competitions.”
Highlights of swing choir have included participating at the state musical festival in her freshman year. She’s looking forward to the swing tour to Chicago this spring.
Being manager for the girls’ basketball team has also been a positive experience.
“I love the girls,” Kinzie said. “They have been a lot of fun.”
Her duties have included keeping the scorebook during JV and C squad games and filming varsity contests.
“Sometimes I got too invested in the game and forget to move the camera,” she laughed.
She loves the bus rides and the close games. “I’m excited to see how far we go,” she added.
After school, she works as a cashier at Cenex West in Wolf Point.
“I like the people that I work with and the interesting people that come in,” Kinzie said.
It’s not only personalities of the two-legged kind that she enjoys though. She also volunteers for Pound Puppies including at monthly clinics.
“I love working with animals. I’m definitely an animals’ person,” she said.
Kinzle, who has three dogs, has been accepted to the Pima Medical Institute in Dillon. Her goal is to become a vet tech.
Her favorite subjects at Wolf Point High School include being a library aide and the college and career class with teacher Dan Horsmon.
