Students and staff at Northside Elementary School celebrated Dr. Seuss Week in honor of the author and to promote youth literacy. The author’s 116th birthday was celebrated in schools across the nation. It has been an annual event for several years. The late Ted Geisel, known by his pen name “Dr. Seuss,” authored more than 60 children’s books. He was born in 1904 and died in 1991. Sporting crazy hair Thursday, March 5, were (front row, left to right) Brayden McGill, Stephanie Martell, Aniya Smoker, Adalynn Smith, Justyne Martell, Ta'Leigha Headdress, Azalea Toavs, Jasine The Boy, Ma'Kenzie Jackson, (back row) Zachary Hilkemann, Kaleigha Laverdure, colton Weyrauch, Olivia Erickson, Christanna Guldborg, Kashtin Lizotte, Emma Kawasaki, Charlotte Reum-Ricker and Leighton Raining Bird. Another day last week was Crazy Hat Day.
