Officials of the Wolf Point Swimming Pool announced last week that swimming lessons will not be offered this summer because of a shortage of certified instructors. Leader publisher Burl Bowler told me a couple weeks ago, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Coming from a multi-generational newspaper family, I feel terrible for Burl and Roz who had to make the very difficult decision to close when a buyer was not found. Faced with the

The Northeast Montana Veterans Memorial will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of its grand opening on Saturday, July 4, at 10 a.m. at the memorial site in Fort Peck. This year’s guest speaker will be Jonathan Wiens, a 2001 graduate of Glasgow High School, a 2005 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and former Army Green Beret.
