Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball team had a tough time of it against a solid Malta squad on Saturday, Jan. 18. The Mustangs jumped out to a 19-1 lead in the first quarter and won in Wolf Point by a 67-15 final.
After Malta scored the first three points of the District 2B game, Wolf Point’s Kashlyn Speak Thunder hit a free throw with 5:50 left in the opening period.

Wolf Point’s AnnaLeigh Matejovsky won the title at 120 pounds at the Cowboy/ Cowgirl wrestling tournament in Miles City during the weekend.
Matejovsky won by technical fall over Lewistown’s Grace Hicks in the title match. Matejovsky won two of her other three matches on pins.
Mike Bell placed third at 285 pounds in the boys’ side.

The Wolves started on a strong note by taking a 15-11 lead in the first quarter.
Harlem responded with 18 points in the second quarter to grab a 29-22 half-time advantage.
Ahead 47-40 at the end of the third quarter, Harlem held the Wolves to four points in the fourth period.
