Midway West Amusements from Sun City, Ariz., is putting on the carnival at this year’s 101st annual Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede, with tickets available at the ticket booth on the corner of Main Street and Third Avenue South in Wolf Point and at the carnival gate. The carnival has been a Wolf Point Stampede tradition for years now, but this year it will be presented by Midway West Amusements.

The Wolf Point Community Organization will hold a celebration and powwow during Wolf Point Stampede weekend again this year. The event will take place on Thursday, July 11, at the Wadopana Powwow Grounds. WPCO chair Holly Hamilton said that the event keeps growing and it’s possible that it will turn into a two-day celebration next year. During WPCO’s monthly meeting on Monday, June 17,

The Private Land/Public Wildlife Advisory Committee will meet July 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Zoom. Public comment will be taken via Zoom. To make a comment, you must register on the FWP website by noon on July 10. The 13-member advisory committee, appointed by the governor, is charged with reviewing FWP’s access programs and offering recommendations to help achieve program goals

The Wild Horse Stampede parades will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 12, and Saturday, July 13, with this year’s theme being “Montana Roots and Cowboy Boots.” “I really wanted it to be for people to come up with their roots to the community,” said Erin Ricker, who has been working with the parade for five years. She wants the parade to be a celebration of the people of Wolf Point,
