Bainville’s girls’ basketball team knocked off Richey/ Lambert, 74-48, during the first day of the District 2C tournament in Sidney on Monday, Feb. 13. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 17-6 lead in the first quarter and then struck for 23 points in the second period for a 40-16 advantage. Bainville’s largest lead of the game was 26 points. Carolyne Christoffersen, a standout athlete for the Froid/Lake Red Hawks, has signed to compete in track and field for Montana State University in Bozeman. Christoffersen won the championship in the shot put at the Class C state meet last spring. She placed fifth in the event as a sophomore. She will compete in the shot put and discus for the Bobcats.

Froid/Lake’s girls’ basketball team ended the regular season with a 64-48 win in Bainville on Saturday, Feb. 11. The Red Hawks gained a 26-20 half-time advantage. Froid/Lake then accounted for 23 points in the third quarter for a 49-37 advantage. Dasani Nesbit scored 12 points in the third quarter including hitting two three-pointers. The Red Hawks added 15 points in the fourth
