Culbertson Council Hires Merrill As Clerk

The Culbertson Town Council held their regular meeting Thursday, Feb. 9. There was no public comment. Jeremy Fadness from WWC Engineering told the council that a pre-construction meeting is planned for March 6 to prepared for spring work on the Montana Department of Transportation’s Highway 2 project. A resolution was passed to accepting a grant/loan package for use at Big Sky Airport

Tester Demands Answers About Chinese Spy Balloon

During a conference call with Montana’s media members, U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont, stressed that he will continue demanding more answers regarding the Chinese spy balloon that was first publicly reported in U.S. airspace above Billings. Hearings in district court on Wednesday, Feb. 15, included five defendants who made changes of plea. Otis Sherman Johnson changed his plea to guilty for criminal possession of dangerous drugs (fentanyl) with intent to distribute and criminal possession of dangerous drugs (meth) with intent to distribute on Nov. 1, 2022. Maximum penalties for each charge is 20 years in prison, a $50,000 fine
