The board of directors at Fort Peck Community College have selected long-time employee Craig Smith as the new president of FPCC at their May 23 board meeting. Smith is the college’s seventh president in the history of the institution, which was chartered by the Fort Peck Tribes in 1978 and is located on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Poplar. Commissioners Approve Hirings During Meeting

Roosevelt County Commissioners approved a memorandum of agreement involving the Montana Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division and Wolf Point’s L.M. Clayton Airport during a meeting on Monday, June 3. The agreement allows four weather cameras to be purchased. Commissioner Gordon Oelkers explained the cameras cost $8,000 total and a 50 percent grant will be received. Roosevelt County

Teams Should Be Proud Of Accomplishments

As the school year ends, I think how exciting of a time it was covering sports for our area teams these past several months. One thing that stands out in my mind is that our area athletes simply never give up. That determination was most evident during the football season when the Froid/Lake Red Hawks accomplished an amazing 79-75 quarter-final playoff victory against Chester/Joplin/Inverness.
