Dennis Lee Erickson, 73, of Vida died May 19, 2026. He was born in Wolf Point to Kermit and Della (Sandburg) Erickson on Sept. 27, 1952. He joined two older sisters, Diana and Pauline, and they were later joined by another sister, Darla. He grew up in Vida. From an early age, his love of sports was evident. Basketball and baseball began for him during his elementary years. While he would practice and shoot around at the Vida school gym, his cousin Rocky Erickson would record play-by-play in his tape recorder. After completing his eighth-grade year at Vida Elementary, he continued his schooling at Circle High School. While in Circle, he participated in football, basketball and track. His competitiveness and his desire to do the best he could afforded him the opportunity to continue playing basketball on a college level. After graduating from high school in 1971, he went to Dawson Community College to play basketball and the next year he went on to play at Havre. In 1973, a plane crash left his dad injured, so he returned to take over the family farm. Shortly after returning, he and Marlys Gackle, his high school sweetheart, were married on Nov. 17, 1973. They began their life together in Vida and would make it their home for the 52 years that they were married. They had a son, Brady, in 1975 and a daughter, Brielle, in 1979. Over the years, time was set aside for family trips to various places around the country. He loved farming and seeing the crops grow. He kept a close eye on their progress and would often drive around to check on them. He was joined in farming by Brady full time after he graduated from college. He still made time for sports. He coached Vida basketball teams, participated in softball and drove the Circle bus for athletic and extracurricular events. Cheering for his own children as they competed and eventually supporting his grandchildren in all their endeavors brought a new meaning to his love of sports and school activities. Dustin Lee Kluth, 60, of Vida died March 22, 2026, at McCone County Health Center. He was born in Wolf Point on March 9, 1966, to Robert “Bob” Kluth and Betty (Remley) Kluth. Hen was the third of six siblings, growing up on the family farm and ranch in Vida. He spent many of his formative years attending Vida Elementary School, riding dirt bikes and horses, farming with his parents and siblings, working many an odd job over the summers and, of course, taking care of the cows. He made the move to attend High School in Circle, where he met Sherry Evenson. In 1989, they began their lives as one, marrying in Circle on Dec. 15. They then began their journey together with an adventurous move to Arizona, with a single cab pickup and a couple hundred dollars to their name they began a new life. During their many adventures and 11 years in Arizona, they had a son, Justice Lee Kluth, in 1994. In 1997, they moved back to Montana to raise their family and be closer to their families. They raised their son, Justice, on the family farm with family values, teaching him many skills such as carpentry, proper animal care and the importance of a wellbuilt fence. He spent several years working alongside his dad at Kluth Construction and working the family ranch, until he settled into his career at Mid-Rivers Communications in 1999. Marlene Faye “Cookie” Wahl, 88, of Circle died May 16, 2026, at the Prairie Community Hospital in Terry. She was born Nov. 17, 1937, in Fargo, N.D., to George and Elida Haroldson. She was the youngest of eight children and shared a lifelong bond with her five sisters, Cassie, Elaine, Georgie, Alta and Ollie, and her two brothers, George and Richard. Growing up in a large family taught her the values of hard work, resilience, faith, and unconditional love — qualities she carried with her throughout her life. In September 1956, she married Gary Wahl at the Lutheran Church in Glendive. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, family and the land they cherished. On June 29, 1957, they welcomed their son, Rocki, and soon settled into life on the family farm in Circle. She dedicated many years to working at the McCone County Courthouse in the Assessor’s Office, where she was known for her dependability and kindness. She also faithfully helped count ballots during local elections each year. But her workday never truly ended there. After leaving the courthouse, she could often be found working alongside her family on the farm, caring for her home, tending to her flowers and garden or quilting with the ladies at the Lutheran Church. Above all else, her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved deeply and always put those she cared about before herself. Whether meeting up for coffee with friends, sharing meals with loved ones, or simply taking a quiet drive around town, she had a way of making every moment count. Her laughter and presence
