The 12-team District 1C volleyball tournament will start Thursday, Oct. 26, in Plentywood. The top four seeds of the tournament are Plentywood, North Country, Scobey and Bainville. Opening-round matches on Thursday include Froid/ Lake facing Brockton at 3 p.m., Richey/Lambert taking on Frazer at 3 p.m., MonDak meeting Lustre Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and Culbertson taking on Nashua

Rebekah Ellerkamp of the Culbertson/Bainville cross country team placed 25th at the Class C state meet held in Kalispell on Saturday, Oct. 21. Ellerkamp, a freshman, finished with a time of 24:51.77. Fisheries Grant Deadline Nov. 15

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks reminds landowners, watershed groups and others that this winter’s deadline to apply for Future Fisheries Improvement Program grants is Nov. 15. The goal of FWP’s Future Fisheries Program is to restore rivers, streams and lakes to improve Montana’s wild fish habitat. Entities can receive funding for qualifying projects that benefit Montana’s wild fish.

Hacker Admits To Stealing $150,000 From Montanan

A man pleaded guilty Tuesday, Oct. 17, to his role in stealing $150,000 by hacking into an elderly Montana woman’s computer, according to a press release from the Montana U.S. Attorney’s Office. Sukhdev Vaid, 24, of India, faces a maximum of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release after admitting to wire fraud. Vaid accessed a 73-year-old woman’s account
