Runners Place At State


Rebekah Ellerkamp of the Culbertson/Bainville cross country team placed 25th at the Class C state meet held in Kalispell on Saturday, Oct. 21.

Ellerkamp, a freshman, finished with a time of 24:51.77.

Roberts won a tie-breaker over Scobey for the team title. Both squads had 27 points.

Whitewater’s Shelbi LaBrie earned the individual championship at 19:52.42. Scobey’s Mya Green placed second and Scobey’s Mia Handran finished third.

In the boys’ division, Colin Purvis had a time of 24:43.59 for 105th place.

Manhattan Christian’s Oren Arthun repeated as the individual champion with a time of 15:55.29. Manhattan Christian won a tie-breaker over Drummond for the team title. Both squads had 33 points.

Brockton’s girls took 12th place with 145 points. Brae-Lynn DeMarrias placed 35th at the meet with a time of 25:40.82.

Brockton’s Taylor Cummins took 53rd place at 28:17.12. Tamryn Bauer placed 57th at 29:06.16. Taiya Fish earned 58th place with a time of 29:15.79. Marlene Fish placed 64th at 29:46.71. Aiyanna Eder took 70th place at 30:52.44.

For Brockton’s boys, Kameron Rattling Thunder placed 97th with a time of 23:21.06.
