Bainville’s girls’ basketball squad enjoyed a strong first half and downed Culbertson, 48-32, at home on Friday, Jan 12. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the first quarter. Bainville then ran off 14 points in the second quarter for a 23-9 advantage. Bainville held a 31-17 lead after three quarters of play. Bainville pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Culbertson, 57-43, during boys’ basketball action in Bainville on Friday, Jan. 12. Cafe Owner Tried for Arson


January 17, 1974 A Culbertson cafe owner received a one year deferred imposition of sentence in Roosevelt County District Court Monday afternoon for starting fire on a truck trailer operated by her husband and belonging to a trucking company of Regina. She pleaded guilty to third degree arson after admitting she spread gasoline around the truck and ignited the fire the night after Christmas.
