Poplar Boys Win Top Team Honors At Meet


Poplar’s boys’ cross country team opened its season in fine fashion as the Indians earned first-place team honors at the Wolf Point Invitational on Friday, Aug. 25. Poplar Girls Earn Second


Poplar’s girls captured second place in the team standings at the Wolf Point Invitational on Friday, Aug. 25. The Indians finished with 47 points. Scobey took top honors with 36 points. Fairview placed third with 74 points. “They did well,” Poplar Coach Karolyn Kohl said. The top three runners at the meet were Scobey’s Mya Green at 21:39.86, Scobey’s Mia Handran at 21:57.91

The Frazer Bearcubs put together a strong effort during their season opening cross-country meet in Wolf Point on Friday, Aug. 25. Frazer’s Jarvis Goodbird finished 16th with a time of 21:32.87. Indians Score Victory During Tournament


The Poplar Indians opened their volleyball season with tournament action in Malta on Saturday, Aug. 26. During pool action, the Indians lost to Chinook by a 1725, 13-25, margin and then fell to Harlem by a score of 18-25, 23-25. During bracket play, the Indians opened with a 25-22, 25-15, victory over Malta. Chinook then edged Poplar by a 24-25, 18-25, final. Coach Janaeya Sutherland
